Art Therapies

Art, music and drama therapists and an integrative child psychotherapist work with pupils for whom this is thought likely to be beneficial, helping them to develop a sense of identity, self esteem and creativity.

These therapeutic provisions can offer the children a different way of relating beyond the confines and pressures of the class group and the learning situation, by using the creative arts. Play is also very important in the Arts Therapies.

The children are encouraged by therapy to interact and communicate with other people, and it helps them focus on the emotional aspect of their difficulties using a psycho-therapeutic approach.

Children can be offered individual sessions or small group settings and the work can be short or long term, ranging from a term to a number of years, depending on the child’s needs.
